Gombe United coach and goalkeeper lament over lack of match day security at venue

Following yesterday’s dramatic 3-3 draw between Gombe united and Enugu rangers, fans of Savannah scorpions went irate and came on the pitch to express their anger at their team’s poor performance despite coming back from a two goal deficit to away side Rangers with the match ending in a draw.

Team manager, Amobi Ezeaku have served strong hint that he may have to call it quits with the club and totally with Nigerian football clubs management due to what he sees as great risk at match venues, poor officiating and unruly behavior of fans.

Amobi told Brila.net while taking stock of what happened at the Pantami stadium in the 3-3 draw against Gombe united where the fans were accused to be throwing stones, and officials also believed to have been influenced. Ezeaku added that he already told the players but will still meet with the management to know what step to take next.

Meanwhile Gombe united goalkeeper Fabiyi Emmanuel  has expressed his frustration and disappointment at irate fans of the Savannah scorpions who descended on him and beat him mercilessly with the accusation that he sold the match out to Enugu Rangers.

Fabiyi lamented further that worse thing again is that he was even abandoned by the management who cared less about his safety and that no one had contacted him from the club management to check up on him despite having to leave for the hospital straight from the match venue.
