Ahmed Musa’s former Boss named Hull City Manager

Ahmed Musa’s mooted move to Turkish side Fenerbahçe is considered a done deal, but the 24-year-old may yet be tempted to stay back in England and rejoin his former Manager, Leonid Slutsky.

Slutsky on Friday was confirmed the new Manager of relegated Hull City and will arrive in the club next week – subject to international clearance.

He replaces Marco Silva, who quit the Tigers after failing to keep them in the Premiership at the end of last season.

Slutsky told the club website that : “I am delighted to become the Head Coach of Hull City and I am very much looking forward to the challenge of guiding the Club back to the Premier League.

“I already know that this is an important Club with a big and loyal fanbase, I’ve had a good feeling about it ever since meeting the Allam family and I can’t wait to get started next week.”

The 46-year-old Russian was in charge of CSKA Moscow and worked with Nigeria International, Musa, for five seasons where they both won three league titles.

Musa, has struggled to find his form in the EPL, managing just four goals in 31 appearances.

The former Kano Pillars man has in the past credited Slutsky for his development as a forward and the former Russia national team Coach rates the player highly.
