Akwa United boss Boboye rues absence of key players against CR Belouizdad

Akwa United coach, Kennedy Boboye ys the absence of key players affected his side performance in the CAF Champions League game against CR Belouizdad on Sunday.

Boboye missed the service of at least three players for the second leg played on Sunday.

The Promise Keepers lost the game 2-0 and subsequently bowed out of the competition with 2-1 aggregate defeat to the Algerians.

Explaining his squad selection for the game, Boboye said he missed services of key players in the encounter.

“Two of my players Charles Okafor and Marshal Johnson had passport issues, one player Denis Nya sustained injury during warm-up and that altered the plans we had.

“We needed to move Dare Ojo to the centre back position, which he did very well but we missed his experience in the midfield and it affected our game plan. I knew it will be difficult for us, but at the same time it wasn’t an impossible task for us.” He concluded.
