Akwa United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka, has spoken to brila about the recently canceled Congo invitational tournament.
In a chat with brila.net‘s Mohammed Saliu, Adewale said reasons were not given to them as to the cancellation but it came as a big shock to the players who have been training really hard.
26 Players were called up from different clubs in the domestic league to be part of the invitational tourney to be hosted by Congo.
Earlier, NFF scribe Muhammad Sanusi had revealed to brila.net that the aim and objective of organizing the competition is for the development of the home-based players.
Players in the camp officially left their base in Abuja on Monday 4th of October for their various clubs according to the goalkeeper.
