Chairman of the Nationwide League One Mohammed Alkali has stated that all is set for the smooth take-off of Nigeria’s third tier league slated for the 8th of March 2021 after the approval and ratification of the date by the Annual General Assembly of the NLO.
Alkali speaking in a chat with brila.net said the League has been scheduled on a zonal basis where teams will converge and play each other.
He added that the zonal nature of the league will ensure that the season is concluded in good time and teams are also better able to take care of operating costs with fewer travel concerns.
“The board has already concluded arrangements after the AGA that the league will start on the 7th and perhaps 7th will be the arrival of all the clubs in their zone and on the 8th officially we are going to kickstart the league. It’s going to be on a zonal basis. We want to do it in such a way that we will finish the league within two to three weeks and that’s why we have divided even the zone into two.”
