Amoo eyes U17 AFCON draws with optimism and prayers

Coach of Nigeria’s U17 national team Fatai Amoo has stated that he is hopeful and prayerful on Nigeria’s would-be opponents ahead of today’s U17 AFCON draws which will be conducted by CAF’s director of competitions Samson Adamu in Cairo.

Amoo speaking in a chat with brila.net said he is aware of the enormity of the task ahead irrespective of the outcome of the draws where they get to face regional champions and runners up and believes the players and everyone will work towards ensuring the team work hard to succeed notwithstanding who they get paired to face.

“We will continue to pray, it’s part of our daily lives and we cannot pretend but we have to work for whatever we pray for. So we know we are meeting Champions and runners up meaning it’s a higher stage to the WAFU we participated in. Be that as it may we will also hope we can do better than what we did in WAFU that’s our focus. So we pray and of course at the end of the day, whoever come we have to play and give our best.”
