Former African footballer of the year Emmanuel Amunike has lauded Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze for playing at the highest level of the Spanish league(Laliga).
Nwakali and Chukwueze both played against each other in a league game (Huesca vs Villarreal) over the weekend in a game that happens to be Nwakali’s Laliga debut.
Amunike had trained both players during their time at the U17 national team. The former Barcelona forward has expressed joy seeing the two up competing at the highest level in the Spanish league.
The former Tanzania head coach told www.Brila.net exclusively that this is what many soccer-loving Nigerians want to see every time, seeing their players at the top and playing at the top levels of their career.
”Nigerians are happy seeing our players at the top level now, I am happy for them (Chukwueze and Nwakali) and those that have not been able to make it like them, I know that they are also working very hard and they are on their way, we shouldn’t forget that adaptation is different and every individual adapt differently.” He told brila.net.
