Aribo’s goal send Rangers to the top of SPL table

Super Eagles duo of Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo were on parade for Glasgow Rangers in their Scottish premier league clash with St Johnstone on Wednesday.

Steven Gerrard named both players in the starting line up and they contributed immensely to the team’s 3 – 0 success over their visitors at the Ibrox.

Borna Barisic, Ryan Kent, and Joe Aribo all scored to hand Gerrard’s side a comfortable win as they edged above Hibernian to the Scottish Premiership summit.

The Gers took the lead in the 21st minutes after Barisic scored a free-kick from 25 yards.

Rangers continued to search for the second and Aribo found Hagi all alone 30 yards out and for the first time in the game, the Romanian fired the ball wide.

Ryan Kent later scored the second for Rangers on the stroke of half time, before Aribo put the game to bed in 47th minutes.

The Nigerian midfielder playmaker glanced home at the near post from  Tavernier’s corner.

Meanwhile, Balogun who has started all the three league games was replaced at half time, but he could be available for Rangers’ next game against Livingston on Sunday.
