Babangida warns Eagles against underrating Croatia and Iceland

EX-International, Tijani Babangida has submitted that the Super Eagles and the handlers should be wary of the threats posed by both Croatia and Iceland in the 2018 World Cup Group D.

The former Super Eagles winger stated this while speaking to brila.net, “the Eagles are a big problem progressing from the group as both Croatia and Iceland are teams that have been doing well”.

With the Super Eagles of Nigeria looking to have a great world cup next year in Russia after being drawn alongside Argentina yet again, Iceland and Croatia.

The ex-international said while Argentina will be looking to really prove they are a great side, the Eagles should be wary of the seeming underdogs, Iceland and Croatia.

Babangida also warned the Eagles not to get carried away just because they defeated the Argentines last month in an international friendly as that is a different ball game altogether.

Meanwhile, the Croatia National team coach has spoken of his fear after being drawn with the Super Eagles, ”After the draw can always be better or worse. I think we can be happy, we can get out of the group, but it will be difficult,” Dalić told HTV, according to net.hr.

”Nigeria is a young team that was the first in its African qualifying group. They have fast players. We have to be careful, we will have plenty of time to study this team.”

Speaking on the strongest team in Group D Argentina, Dalic said: “I wanted to avoid Argentina, namely the two, three strong teams. But here, we got the Messiah. We will not surrender.”
