Napoli have announced the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager, effectively sacking Maurizio Sarri amid interest from Chelsea and Zenit St Petersburg.
Ancelotti, former manager of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and most recently Bayern Munich, has signed a three-year deal at the Stadio San Paolo.
A statement from the club confirmed: “Napoli are happy to announce the definition of an agreement with coach Carlo Ancelotti to become lead the first team for the next three seasons and therefore starting from 2018-19.”
Sarri had led Napoli to top three finishes in each of his three seasons in charge, pushing Juventus close this campaign only to fall short in the final weeks of the season.
