Acting General Manager of Nigeria National League side Crown FC of Ogbomoso Kunle Oyeleye has stated that the decision taken by the NPFL club owners can not be binding on the teams or governance structure of the nations second-tier league and as such cannot make a decision that will affect the NNL for the NNL clubs.
Oyeleye speaking in a chat with brila.net said the NPFL can take whatever decision that suits them where they freely have the right to do so but will have to leave open places of symbiotic relationship where the two leagues interphase by virtue of relegating teams to the NNL or admitting promoted teams from the NNL as the case may be.
“The NPFL they can do whatever they like on their way forward, so, for now, we are not concerned. Our own is to let us finish our league or whatever format we are going to take.
“Let the four of us that will promote to the NPFL let them promote, then those that will relegate to the Nationwide, let them relegate. There are rules and statutes that established NNL as a body but we are not an appendage of LMC or NPFL.”
