Enyimba suffers 3-1 defeat against Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium

Enyimba suffered a 3-1 loss against Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Sunday.

 

Katsina United started brightly and almost took the lead inside the opening 10 minutes. Olayinka Yusuf’s throw-n was flicked goalwards by Samuel Nnoshiri, but goalkeeper Noble reacted quickly to keep it out.

 

Enyimba wasn’t second time lucky as Samuel Kalu gave the Changi Boys the lead in the 19th minute.

 

The former FC Ifeanyi and Wiki Tourists forward fired a long drive from outside the box hit the roof of the net, with Noble, remain flat-footed.

 

It was Kalu’s sixth goal of the current campaign, and but he was later replaced by Mahmud Abdulwasiu in the 32nd minute after picking up an injury.

 

Katsina United got their second seven minutes later, when Rasheed Ahmed scored from close range, off Usman Barau’s assist.

 

Enyimba failed to recover from the setbacks and they concede a third goal in the 42nd minute. This time, substitute Mahmud Abdulwasiu beat John Noble with a low shot from close range, off another assist by Atule

 

Super Eagles forward Anayo Iwuala reduced the deficit for the People’s Elephants six minutes after the restart.

 

Anayo chipped the ball over goalkeeper Ahmed Yusuf after collecting a pass from Tosin Omoyele.

 

Katsina United however held on for the maximum and condemned Fata Osho led Enyimba to another defeat on the road.
