Ex-Coach Siasia expects Eagles to improve ahead of World Cup

Erstwhile Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has stated that the Super Eagles team is far from being the finished article.

The former Super Eagles player Siasia said the team is not yet ready to achieve what Nigerians feel at the moment but have time on their side.

Siasia, who led the Flying Eagles of Nigeria to a second place in the 2005 U-20 World Cup in Netherlands believes the team has enough time which will eventually help them get better.

According to Siasia, a lot of the players will take competition for national team places now to their club which will earn them a recall.

Siasia said the time now to the world cup will help the team also get better ahead of the FIFA Mundial.

Meanwhile, Former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu has stated that Nigeria hopes of having a remarkable outing at next year’s world cup in Russia goes beyond the international friendlies.

The former Besiktas of Turkey goalkeeper emphasized on the spirit of the players and their personal determination to achieve something individually and collectively.

Shorunmu who spoke in a chat with Brila FM said the players staying fit will be very important to the course of the team while the football federation fulfills their part.
