Fatai Osho laments Enyimba’s injury crisis

Enyimba boss Fatai Osho has lamented the current injury crisis facing his team in the crucial part of the season.

Osho was without captain, Austin Oladapo, Cyril Olisema, Daniel Darkwah, Guerra, Sadiq Aboubakar, Stephen Manyo and some players for the past two match, while Anayo Iwuala was rested for the visit of Jigawa Golden Stars.

The tactician, however, watched his team laboured to beat struggling side Jigawa Golden Stars 2-1 in Aba on Sunday.

Osho said most of his players are struggling with one injury or the other and Olisema was allowed sit on the bench, but he’s not fit to play.

“I want  people to appreciate one thing in this particular Enyimba team,we have a lot of health issues. Olisema was  on drip in order to be a reserve player, we couldn’t bring him in.There was no midfielder on the bench, our captain is out,Anayo could not play today,a lot of them.”

“It is not as if they are tired, they are not healthy. That has been a serious issue. That is why we struggle when the Adawawa boys run at us. Bala was out for eight months, we had to rush him back because most of the players are not there.”

“Sometimes, I pity these players, looking at what they go through on the field,it is truly a sorry a story but unfortunately the tight schedule during the Confederation Cup has not helped the course of the team.”

When asked if Enyimba will still fight for the title,Osho was positive about his team’s chances, Osho said he is still hopeful that his team has a chance to get a hold on the NPFL title.

“That is what we will keep doing. Look at this team in the early days with Anayo, Sadiq Aboubakar and Samson Obi. Let us see how we pull across the line, it looks difficult.”

Osho remain optimistic the medical team to clear some of the players to play against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Nnewi on Wednesday.
