Fracture rules out Uzoho from Eagles squad to face South Africa

Francis Uzoho will miss Super Eagles AFCON qualifier in South Africa later this month after his Spanish club Elche CF announced he suffered a fracture and he will be out for at least four weeks.

Elche said a scan showed Uzoho suffered a “seventh-grade fracture” after a league clash at Cadiz.

He said he was disappointed he will be sidelined for several weeks, adding the timing of the injury was off.

Last month, the young shot-stopper was widely criticized for the goals that beat him when Nigeria beat Libya 3-2 in Sfax, Tunisia.

Either of Ikechukwu Ezenwa or Daniel Akpeyi will most likely to step in for Uzoho against Bafana Bafana on November 17 as well as friendly against Uganda three days later in Asaba.
