Genk boss Van Den Brom salutes hat-trick hero Onuachu

KRC Genk Coach John van den Brom says he is happy with how Paul Onuachu put the bad start behind to score hat-trick against Seraing on Sunday.

Onuachu missed an early penalty before scoring his first hat-trick to lead Genk to a 3-0 victory over the newly promoted side yesterday.

“The most important thing is that we won this match in a convincing way. That way we could easily beat the defeat against Antwerp.

We controlled the game from start to finish. We score 3 times and keep a clean sheet, compliments to the boys,” said the Dutch trainer said after the game.

Onuachu opened the scoring on the 36th minutes, before adding the second before the time break.

The 27-year-old completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot three minutes into the second half.

“In the first half we had many moments in front of the goal with that disallowed goal and Onuachu’s penalty miss. But fairly soon after that he scored those 2 goals and luckily he shot the penalty after the break. Then we finished the game well,” He told voetbalkrant.com.

The hat-trick takes Onuachu’s goals to 11 in all competitions for Genk this season.
