Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Leon Balogun will miss the Gers’ league encounter at Livingston on Sunday after the defender suffered a quad injury on Wednesday.

 

Balogun started, keeping his third clean-sheet for Rangers in a 3-0 Scottish Premier League win over St. Johnstone but was replaced by Filip Helander on 46 minutes.

 

Gerrard who has been impressed a lot by Balogun since teaming up with his side has provided an update on the injury suffered by the former Brighton &Hove Albion center-back.

 

The Gers boss, Gerrard said at the pre-match press conference which took place on Friday:

 

“Leon Balogun won’t be available for the weekend, he has a small quad problem and we are waiting on results from a scan.”

 

Meanwhile, Balogun’s international team-mate, Joe Aribo is expected to feature in the game.

 

The midfielder opened his goal account for the season against St Johnstone, scoring Rangers’ third of the night.

 

Livingston are also expected to parade their Nigerian import, Ambrose Efe in the game.

 

Rangers sit at the top of the table with nine points from three games.
