If my future depends on winning the Europa League, SACK ME NOW – Sarri tells Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri insists he will leave Chelsea with immediate effect if his work is going to be judged only on the outcome of the Europa League final against Arsenal.

Sarri’s future is uncertain because fans turned against him when form slumped in midseason and he has emerged among the possible replacements for Max Allegri at Juventus.

He parried questions on the Juventus connection, claiming his mind was purely focused on Baku, but the 60-year-old Italian made it clear his first season at Stamford Bridge should not hinge on the outcome of one game.

‘If the situation is like this I want to go immediately,’ said Sarri at a UEFA press conference. ‘You cannot do 10 months of work and then I have to play for everything in 90 minutes.

‘It’s not right. It’s not the right way. You’re either happy about my work or you’re not happy.’

Chelsea recovered to finish third in the Premier League and will be back in the Champions League next season.
