Joe Aribo, Sheyi Ojo Fail To Fire Rangers To The Top Of Scottish League

Super Eagles playmaker Joe Aribo and his teammate Seyi Ojo were involved in Glasgow Rangers pulsating 1-1 draw with Heart in the Scottish Premier league on Sunday.

The game was Aribo’s first since he sustained horrific head injury in Scottish Cup tie against Livingston last month and he lasted for 90 minutes at the Tynecastle Park.

Aribo’s teammate, Seyi Ojo who is on loan from Liverpool was replaced by Ryan Kent , two minutes after an hour mark on the Rangers missed the opportunity to reclaim top spot from rivals Celtic.

Steven Gerrard’s side knew before kick-off that they needed all three points if they were to move above rivals Celtic at the top of the table following Neil Lennon’s side’s 6-0 win against Ross County on Saturday, but they found themselves behind early on after Rytoro Meshino’s sixth-minute opener.

Rangers eventually equalised in the 39th minute through Alfredo Morelos’ 15th goal of the season.

The draw sees Gerrard’s side draw moved level on 22 points with Celtic, but they trail their rivals in the table on goals scored.

Meanwhile, the result means Hearts moved above rivals Hibernian into 10th on goal difference.
