Little Messi, Seven Others Join Plateau United in Mid-Season Reinforcement

Plateau United have confirmed the signing of 8 new players, including Stanley Okoro, to fortify their position at the NPFL summit.

According to a statement signed by the media officer of the club, Albert Dakup, the 8 players include 2 from the feeder team, 3 are players of the team who were not registered at the beginning of the season due to unforeseen circumstances.

The club also recruited three more players from other NPFL clubs.

 

Top among those who are joining the team from other clubs are Nigeria 2009 Golden Eaglets revelation, Stanley Okoro and CHAN 2016 attacking midfielder Bature Yaro who joined from Wikki Tourists.

 

Others are Hamza Awolabi, Myep Bulus-Ghai, Emmanuel Odafe, Daddy Morris, Clinton Peter and Damian Longmiap.

 

Dakup explained that the new recruits have been training with the rest of the squad for about two weeks.

 

He said the signings were arrived at after a meeting between the Club’s management and the technical crew, with teh latter drawing up the names of the new signings.

 

The media officer further expressed optimism that the acquisition of the new players will correct some of the lapses noticed in the first round with a view to sustaining the objectives of picking a continental ticket at the end of the season.

 

Plateau United, who lost 1-0 to Rangers International in Enugu last Wednesday in a rescheduled week 18 encounter are still top of the league table with 35 points from 19 matches.
