Former Dutch Eredivisie champions AZ Alkmaar are interested in signing Super Eagles’ number one goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Dutch media reported that the 21-year-old shot-stopper remains a target for Az Alkmaar as they look to replace goalkeeper Marco Bizot and who is on the verge of leaving for Grek giants Olympiakos.
Okoye announced himself to the world last season when he singlehandedly carried his Club Sparta Rotterdam out of the relegation zone to the mid-table.
The German-born kept ten clean sheets in 28 league appearances, despite starting the campaign as the second choice.
Okoye was voted the player of the season at Sparta Rotterdam and has he been linked with Dutch champions Ajax but the move didn’t materialize so far.
However, the latest reports suggested that AZ Alkmaar is now willing to sign the goalkeeper should Marco Bizot leave the Club.
