Former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi was in the action again for Stoke City against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The Nigerian midfielder helped his side maintain their good start to the season as they edged Huddersfield in a seven-goal thriller at the Bet 365 stadium on Saturday.
The Potters got all the three points with a 4 – 3 which brighten their chances of premier league promotion at the end of the campaign.
The visitors opened the scoring through Carel Editing in the 25th minute, but forward Tyrese Campbell’s brace in nines put Stoke in front after half-hour.
Huddersfield briefly drew level through Isaac Mbenza’s cool finish after 40 minutes but found themselves behind at the break after Richard Stearman turned into his own net on the stroke of half-time.
Returning Sam Clucas made it 4-2 in the second half, but Naby Sar later reduced the deficit for the Terriers.
With the win, Stoke City are seventh on the log, just one place outside the promotion places.
