Musa happy to mark 100th cap for Nigeria with a win

Captain of the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa has stated that he is happy wo mark his 100th cap for Nigeria with a victory.

Ahmed Musa was in action for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their 2-0 win over the Central African Republic on Sunday.

The Nigerian skipper was on the pitch for 76th on his 100th appearance for Nigeria as Victor Osimhen and Leon Balogun netted the goals that won the tie for the former African champions.

The Fatih Karagumruk winger has now joined Joseph Yobo and Vicent Enyeama on the list of the most capped Nigerian players ever.

Musa said: “The most important thing is three and as you can see, we won it and I earned my 100th cap as well. So thanks to my teammates and the coaches for all the support.”

Musa who is Nigeria’s all time leading scorer at the FIFA World Cup with four goals, also promised the squad will continue to give their best for the country.

“As for Nigerians, we know, sometimes we disappoint them, but there is nothing we can do about it, that’s the game of football.”

 

“We will keep working hard to make them proud and by God’s grace, we will make them proud in the next games.” He said.
