Former Super Eagles goalie, Dosu Joseph has predicted that Leicester City defensive midfield marshal and Eagles player, Wilfred Ndidi will win the CAF African Footballer of the Year award soonest for Nigeria.
In a chat with www.brila.net, the 1996 Olympic football gold medal-winning shot-stopper stated that Chelsea player Victor Moses would have won the award for Nigeria as he was very close, but for his shock decision to quit the national team.
“We have the upcoming ones that can win the award, Moses was close to winning it but because he retired it after Nigeria”.
“It’s not all about goalscoring, performance counts, we have the players, I believe Ndidi would have also been in the African 11”.
“Fingers crossed, we will get there. I believe so. We have dominated it before and I know for sure we will still win it, we will surely get there”.
