NFF decamps the Flamingoes amid coronavirus fear

The Nigeria Football Federation has given national U-17 women’s football team a two weeks break to be with their loved ones.

The Flamingoes defeated the their Guinean counterparts 11-2 aggregate in their FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifiers last Sunday, and the Nigeria Football Governing Body has now decamped the team, in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

 

Meanwhile, the Bankole Olowokere girls have been paired with Ghana who thrashed Liberia 10- 0 on aggregate in the last round of the qualifiers, but team will now wait for further directives from NFF for preparation for the tie.

 

The game between Flamingos and Ghana is slated for 1st -3rd of May with first leg in Accra and return leg in Nigeria.

 

Nigeria is expected to qualify for the World Cup which is holding in India next year.
