The Nigeria Football Federation will not set any “direct targets” for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup according to 1st Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi.
Nigeria qualified for a sixth world cup appearance and the expectation for the team to excel at the tournament is enormous but Akinwunmi assured that Gernot Rohr and his players will not be put under any pressure in Russia.
Speaking on Brila FM’s Big Sports Breakfast Show, on Wednesday, the FA chief expressed confidence in the ability of the “over qualified” Rohr and team to deliver.
He said ‘We believe this Super Eagles team will do wonders and surprise Nigerians who are still skeptical.’
‘There won’t be any direct targets set for this team.’ Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi stressed.
