Nigeria’s D’Tigers skipper Diogu eyes National team summer return

Captain of Nigeria’s men basketball national team Ike Diogu has stated that he is enthusiastically looking forward to the return of the National Team in the summer where the team will converge to prepare for the Olympics in Tokyo after a perfect end to the team’s Afrobasket 2021 qualifiers played over two windows in Kigali and Tunisia.

Diogu speaking in a chat gathered by brila.net said he is also hoping to have the return of the full complement of the top players in the team as the D’Tigers hope to re-establish themselves as the best team in Africa by winning the Afrobasket in Kigali Rwanda later in the year.

“Everybody will go back to their respective clubs and we will meet back again in the summertime to prepare for the 2020 Olympics. Yes, we have a lot of things to fix so I’ll look forward to us having a complete team to win like everyone else. Everybody wants to win and that’s the same thing for us we want to try and establish been the best team in Africa.”
