Nwakaeme’s Goal not Good Enough to Save Hapoel Be’er Sheva

Anthony Nwakaeme came off the bench to score for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Thursday’s Europa League match against Plzen, but the Ligat HA’al side were defeated 3-1 on the night.

Nwakaeme, 28, who has earned a second call up to the Nigeria national team was introduced in the 62nd minute with his team trailing 1-0.

His goal, a brilliant reverse-wheel, snap shot after a poor first touch inside the box leveled the scoreline at 1-1.

However, the visitors never had a grip on the game and soon went behind in the 76th minute and conceded a third on 89 minutes.

With the defeat, Hapoel Be’er Sheva are currently on three points from two matches and sit third in group G.
