Ola Aina’s Chelsea return ends in defeat

Ola Aina’s return to Stanford Bridge ended in defeat as Chelsea defeated Fulham 2-0 in English Premier league game on Saturday.

Aina who is on-loan from Italian side Torino to Fulham spent four years with Chelsea, making three league appearances before ending his spell in 2019.

Also, Josh Maja, Tosin Adarabioyo and Ademola Lookman were also in Coach Scott Parker’s starting 11 for the match.

While Aina and Adabioyo had torid time keeping Chelsea’s attackers away from their goal, Josh Maja and Ademola Lookman were unlucky not beat Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in the game.

Aina nearly found the target on the stroke of half-time, as his heavily deflected shot was claw off the line by Mendy.

Ademola Lookman also tested Mendy wirh a brilliant shot, but the Senegalese shot stopper did enough to palm it away.

German midfielder Kai Havertz scored in each half to give Chelsea the win and it could have been more, had it not been for a number of inspiring saves from Alphonse Arreola.

The defeat leaves Fulham in 18th place, nine points adrift of Newcastle and Burnley having crucially played a game more than their relegation rivals.
