Abia Warriors goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo says he’s satisfied with the efforts of his teammates against Enyimba in Tuesday’s Abia derby.
Enyimba snatched a narrow 1-0 win against their City rivals in their opening game of the NPFL season at the Enyimba Stadium.
A second-half penalty converted by Samad Kadiri was enough to hand the People’s Elephants bragging rights.
Olorunleke produced an impressive performance and kept his side in the game, denying Sodiq Abubakar and Samad Kadiri.
“I thank God for the outcome of the game; it was injury free. I must commend the efforts of my teammates, we all did well,” He told brila.net.
“I must also congratulate Enyimba, because as far as I’m concerned, they did what they had to for a win.
“Individually, I’m happy with my display and also collectively, our performance was good, we did our best, unfortunately we didn’t win.
“But this is like a new and very talented team, so I believe we have a great future.”
