Super Falcons goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi said the team is hoping to bounce back when they take on Portugal in their second game at the ongoing United States Invitational tournament.
The African champions lost the opening game 1-0 to the Raggae Girls of Jamaica on Thursday.
It was the first ever meeting between Nigerian ladies and thier Jamaican counterparts in international football.
Deneisha Blackwood scored the only goal of the game that condemned the Falcons to defeat at the BBVA Stadium.
“I wanted to blame myself (for the goal), I tried to be at my best but just a silly goal will come and mess everything up,” the Spain-based shot stopper ais after the game .
“I was not happy for the goal, but I did my best.
“The defence did well because they are new in the team, but with time we will get there.”
Oluehi added that the team will be ready to turn things around against Portugal Sunday.
“We hope to correct our mistakes from the game against Jamaica, pick ourselves up and win against Portugal,” Oluehi said.
