Onuachu shines in Genk’s win over Cercle Brugge

Super Eagles giant striker Paul Onuachu played all 90 minutes in Gent slim win over Cercle Brugge in a Belgian league clash on Saturday.

The Belgian champions had to dig deep in the game to grind out victory against their visitors.

Onuachu was harmful for the visitors’ defence but was unable to get the better of the goalkeeper who stood firm to deny him and others.

The crowd at Litmus Arena did witness a goal, although it was only in the 8th when Sebastien Dewaest scored the only goal of the game.

While Onuachu was on for the entire duration of the game, Genk’s last UEFA Champions League goal scorer Stephen Odey was among the unused substitutes.

Odey enjoyed plaudits after his maiden Champions League goal against Liverpool last Wednesday, but it was not enough to convince Felice Mazzu to give him some minutes of action on Saturday.
