Perhaps Belgium will redeem it’s footballing image next week Monday when they vote for the best Young player Under 22 years, with Henry Onyekuru in the top three.
Onyekuru came fourth in the ‘Soulier d’Ebène’ or Ebony Shoe Award, where Anderlecht’s Belgian-DR Congo’s Youri Tielemans pick the honors.
Similarly, the 19-year-old lost out to KAS Eupen captain, Luis Garcia for the team’s player of the season award.

Voted online by club supporters, Onyekuru came in second with 18% in the polls to Garcia’s 47%.
The young player’s award organized by Het Nieuwsblad (a news daily in Belgium) and have shortlisted Nany Dimata from KV Oostende and Ebony Shoe winner, Youri Tielemans.

The winner of the Pro footballer of the year – Young Player category will be announced at a gala in Ghent on Monday.
