Opara urges Super Eagles players to become more competitive

Former Nigeria international Godwin Opara has urged players of the senior national team of Nigeria to become more competitive stressing that competition eventually is what will put them in the team and will in turn also make the national team stronger when players strive to outdo each other.

Opara speaking in a chat with brila.net said the national team today is not what it used to be in terms of competition among players but that it’s gradually coming back and becoming evident in the team with players performance even at club level justifying reasons why one should be preferred to the other ahead of national team assignments.

“They need to work more to be in the team but for now you can see the performances of our Nigerian players it’s not what it used to be before but gradually it’s coming back, the time has come for them to come fully now. You can see Onuachu that guy is a determined player, Osimhen is there this is the kind of competition we have when we were playing then. If you’re not there, there is somebody to take your place and this is what we’re having now it’s coming back. It’s a gradual thing, I think with time we will get there.”
