Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen scored for Napoli against Cagliarri team at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday.
Osimhen was handed another starting belt by coach Gennaro Gattuso, following his scintillating form for the club in recent matches.
Osimhen repaid the faith of the coach when he netted the opening goal of the game inside the opening 13 minute.
Osimhen controlled a delightful chip over the top from Captain Lorenzo Insigne, before slotting the ball past Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno.
It was Osimhen’s sixth goal in the last ten games and eight goals in twelve league starts for the Napolitano this season.
The Nigerian was later substituted in the 74th minute and was replaced by Napoli’s all time time top scorer Dries Mertens.
Napoli failed to add to the tally and they were punished in the 90+4 minute when the visitor got an equaliser through Nahitan Nandez.
Napoli however dropped to fifth in the Serie A table with 67 points from 34 games played, they sitter 2 points adrift AC Milan, Juventus and Atalanta.
