Pape Souare returns to Crystal Palace training seven months after horror car crash that threatened his career

Pape Souare, 26 Senegalese defender fractured his thigh bone in a car crash on September 28 but was back training yesterday.

The Crystal Palace defender fractured his thigh bone in the accident on September 28 and feared he’d never play again.

He had to be cut loose from his Mercedes 4×4 on the M4 by the fire service before being airlifted to hospital.

The 26-year-old, who had played in the Eagles’ first four matches of the season prior to the crash, admitted his worst fears three months later.

“It has made me see the world differently,” he told the BBC’s World Service in December. “I can maybe lose my career.

“Anything can happen to anyone, we are all human and anything can happen to anyone.”

But on Tuesday he took to the training ground for some light running, highlighting just how far his rehabilitation has come since the horror crash.
