Petr Cech heading back to Stamford Bridge?

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech could be heading back to Chelsea at the end of the season as the Blues plan to offer him a goalkeeper coaching role.

Cech who joined the Gunners four years ago announced on Tuesday he will retire from football at the end of the current season.

The Times reports Chelsea is keen to avoid missing out on the chance to bring their club legend back into the fold as Arsenal did with Patrick Vieira, the captain of their famed Invincibles.

This is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 20 years since I signed my first professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire at the end of the season.

Having played 15 years in the Premier League and won every single trophy possible, I feel I have achieved everything I set out to achieve.

I will continue to work hard at Arsenal to hopefully win one more trophy this season, then I am looking forward to seeing what life holds for me off the pitch.

The 36-year-old won 13 major honors with Chelsea during a trophy-laden career in West London.
