When the club’s wiki page still shows Imama Amapakabo as current Coach after what was calamitous title defence last season in the NPFL, it’s only proper that Enugu Rangers are carrying out an introspection – but on social media though?
Rangers ended a 32-year jinx in 2016 after they mesmerized the rest of Nigeria to pick their first league crown since 1984.
However, what followed was a meltdown as they struggled to keep their best players, couldn’t pay salaries, fed players banana before a crucial continental match and got embroiled in a contractual mess with the sacked Amapakabo.
Several months on and the Club is steadily building it’s health back up.
A shape up in management and the appointment of Gbenga Ogunbote – who led Oriental rivals Enyimba to a third place finish last season – are among the steps taken by the club to rediscover their “Big Team” status.
But, it was quite surprising to see the club is also involving the fans in this revamp.
On new year’s eve the official twitter handle of the club put up a tweet:
What do you want us to do differently in 2018?
