The 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist narrowly missed out on winning the gold losing 5-4 to Japanese teenage sensation Haruna Okuno.

Adekuroye said she was not disappointing with her performance at the tournament.

“It was not easy at all, I really appreciate God for this feat.

I trained really hard for this championships having camped previously in Ondo and Bayelsa state.

Also attending about three different competitions before the championships but i didn’t achieve this feat by my own power.

“Being the first ever Nigerian to get to the final of a world Championship is a very big deal for me and am so happy.

It is a dream come through, I really wanted the gold but that is fate. The bout was close 5-4 but i believe next time, I’ll get the gold”
