Romelu Lukaku is yet to make a Manchester United appearance, yet the new arrival from Everton has already carved out a small piece of history by breaking the club’s social media record according to United’s website.
The July 8 tweet that announced a transfer fee had been agreed with Everton is now @ManUtd’s most retweeted post of all time, with over 93,000 fans sharing it on Twitter.

The previous record was held by Paul Pogba and the first official photo of him wearing the United kit following his return to Old Trafford last summer (with over 88K retweets).
Meanwhile, on the club’s Instagram account, the same Lukaku announcement (transfer fee agreed) is now also our second-most liked post of all time with over 869,000 likes.
That is just behind the trophy-lift photo from the successful UEFA Europa League final in Stockholm, Sweden, back in May.
