Ronaldo again was the brightest star shining in Madrid tonight as he became the first player to score hat tricks back to back in the Champions League condemning Atletico to a 3-nil defeat.
Madrid took the lead in the 10th minute with a header of the first leg of the Champions League against rivals Atletico from Cristiano Ronaldo following a Casemeiro assist. Madrid continued to pressure city rivals winning a series corner but ended the first half with just a goal advantage.
Madrid doubled the lead in the 73rd minute when Ronaldo took advantage of a defensive blunder by Atletico after a great hold up play by Benzema.
The game was done and dusted when the ball was cut back from the right, finding the Portugese inside the 18 yard box which he finished brilliantly.
Madrid are aiming to win a record 12th Champions League trophy and also becoming the first team to win the trophy since the new era.
