Stephen Eze Ready to Fight for World Cup Spot, Joins Bulgarian Club

Lokomotiv Plodiv new signing, Stephen Eze has said he’s ready to fight for a place in the Super Eagles to the 2018 FIFA World Cup after he was unveiled by the Bulgarian club on Thursday.

Eze, who featured prominently for Nigeria at the CHAN 2018, joined the Bulgaria First PFL club from Kano Pillars.

The 23-year-old told the club website that, “I am happy to be a part of a big club like Lokomotiv Plovdiv, and I can not wait to make my debut for the team, and I will do all my best to make this great club go forward.

“Playing the African Nations Championship and representing your national team there is a great honor for me.

“A dream for every footballer is to play a final of such rank. Unfortunately, we lost from Morocco, but I had the opportunity to compete alongside strong and proven players, and I also had a lot of experience.

“I hope that with my good games for Nigeria I can participate in the World Championship in Russia in June.

The defender expressed his readiness to jump into the fray with Plodiv and believes the presence of his compatriots, Mohammed Musa and new signing Mustafa Abdullah will help him settle at the club.

“I’m glad I have two friends from Nigeria in the squad – Mohammed Musa and Mustafa Abdullah. They will help me get used to the situation,” Eze told lokomotivpd.com.
