Stephen Odey effort not enough as FC Zürich bow 3-1 to St. Gallens

Former MFM forward Stephen Odey scored a consolatory goal for FC Zürich as they dropped out of European qualification spot after losing 3-1 away at St. Gallen in Switzerland.

The 21-year-old attacker led the line after impressing in their mid-season friendly fixtures, but it was the hosts that took a first-half lead when Simone Rapp put them ahead after 13 minutes.
Rapp then scored his brace and St. Gallen’s second of the match ten minutes after the restart before Ashimeru Majeed made it an almost impossible comeback for Zurich when he scored on the 71st minute to make it 3-0.
Odey then reduced the deficit five minutes later after being set up by Levani Kharabadze to score his 8th league goal of the campaign before he was replaced two minutes later as Zürich fell 3-1 after 90 minutes.
