Nigeria forward Stephen Odey could not add to his tally for FC Zurich as Bayer Leverkusen ran away with all three points in a Europa League match on Thursday night.
Odey was the hero when the two sides clashed two weeks ago, scoring the winner for his Swiss side but he was more or less toothless in the reversed fixture played at BayArena yesterday.
The German side dominated the game but couldn’t find a way through till 60th minutes when Croatia defender Tin Jedvaj scored the only goal of the game to put Bayer on top of the Group A summit.
Meanwhile, FC Zurich drops to second place but both teams are on nine points and have booked their place in the next phase of the tournament.
Next for former MFM hitman and his colleagues is a league game against Sion and Odey will to add to his 2018-19 tally of seven goals.
