Super Eagles and Stoke City midfielder, Etebo Peter Oghenekaro has termed tonight’s fixture away from home against Wigan Athletic as a difficult match but believes his side can get the much-needed result.
“The game is a very important game for the team and for me, it’s not going to be an easy game, but let’s see how it goes, Etebo told www.brila.net.
“It’s very important we win the game because getting points, especially towards the end of the season, is always not easy, but we will give everything to make sure we get the needed victory”, he concluded.
Stoke have Charlie Adam (calf) back in training but it remains to be seen whether the veteran midfielder will be involved at the DW Stadium. Potters boss Nathan Jones felt his side lacked a cutting edge in defeat to West Brom at the weekend and he could bring Benik Afobe back into the team.
Saido Berahino is also an option for Jones, whose side have lost their last three Championship games without scoring a goal. Stoke will want some measure of revenge on Wednesday night following Wigan’s surprise 3-0 win at the bet365 Stadium back in August.
Stoke’s last away league win at Wigan was in their most recent visit there in the Championship, a 1-0 victory under Tony Pulis in the 2004-05 season.
