Simona Halep beats Pliskova to set up Jelena Ostapenko final

Simona Halep has beaten No. 2 Karolina Pliskova to reach the French Open final, where she will face the unseeded Jelena Ostapenko.

Third-seeded Halep won 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, clinching the victory on the first of her two match points when Pliskova sent a return long.

She broke early in the third set and threatened to break again in the fifth game but Pliskova saved with an ace and went on to hold.

Pliskova then broke to level the set but the Halep broke straight back to leave the Romanian serving for the match.
