William Troost-Ekong put in a good shift to deny AC Milan’s Polish hit-man Krzysztof Piątek as Udinese secured a hard fought 1-0 win in their Serie A opener on Sunday.
Per whoscored.com, Troost-Ekong rated 7.3 overall in his first Serie A game of the season against the Rossoneri.
The defender even registered an attempt on goal, in a game that saw the host pelting Gianluigi Donnarumma’s goalpost with several attempts on either end of the field.
For a long spell in the game, attackers on both ends couldn’t find the back of the net. But the breakthrough came in the 73rd minute through Udinese Brazilian defender, Rodrigo Becao.

Even the presence of 2019 AFCON winner and player of the tournament, Ismael Bennacer didn’t deter the Udinese defender, who was handed 90 minutes in the game.
Last season, Alessio Romagnoli scored an additional time winner (90+7′) at the Stadio Friuli to give AC Milan victory in a 1-0 win.
