A second division league match scheduled for Wednesday, between two powerhouses has been called-off following reports of food poisoning.

Bendel Insurance were due to host Shooting Stars in a week 17 NNL match, but it turned out the Oluyole Warriors camp had a major health emergency, as an official complaints was filed.

 

Akeem Lawal [The Nation] reported that some players and officials of Shooting Stars took ill from what appears to be food poisoning.

 

The management of @nnationalleague has postponed Wednesday’s #Bet9jaNNL week 17 outstanding match between @BendelInsurance and @Official3SC following complaint of food poisoning in the camp of Oluyole Warriors which affected their players and officials.

 

 

There’s been no confirmation on the number of those affected or whether they have been taken to the hospital, despite efforts by Brila.net to reach officials of the club.

 

The teams are locked in a close battle at the summit of Group B in the League with 3SC five points clear at the top ahead of second place Bendel Insurance; the latter with two matches in hand.
