Victor Moses compound Napoli’s woes with superb performance for Spartak Moscow

Former Super Eagles Victor Moses continues his impressive form in the Europa League as he helped Spartak Moscow to a 2-1 win over Napoli on Wednesday.

Moses created one of the goals as Spartak Moscow beat Napoli 2-1, in the Group C encounter played in Russia.

The former Chelsea star has now assisted four goals and scored two in five games in this season’s Europa League for Spartak.

Sobolev put the hosts ahead inside the opening three minutes. The striker stepped up to convert a penalty after the referee punished Stanislav Lobotka for bringing down Quincy Promes just inside the box.

On the 29th minute, Moses picked out Aleksandr Sobolev with a perfect cross and the attacker made no mistake as he headed home his second of the game.

Macedonian striker Elif Elmas reduced the deficit for Napoli on the 64th minute, but they were unable to find the equalizer, before the final whistle.

The result lifts Spartak Moscow to the top of the table, with seven points after five games played, the same points as second-placed Napoli.

Legia Warsaw is third with six points, Leicester City remains bottom of the table with five points. Both will meet later today.
