Zaidu Sanusi struggles as Porto fell to Liverpool at Anfield

Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi was in action for FC Porto in their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old defender played the entire minutes of the UEFA Champions League Group B encounter, but struggled to contain rampaging Egyptian forward Mohammed Salah.

Zaidu was the culprit for Liverpool’s second goal as he failed to deal with long to Jordan Henderson, who then picked out Salah to fire home.

Recall that Sanusi also struggled when both sides met back in September for matchday two.

Thiago Alcantara opened the scoring seven minutes into the second half with a lovely strike, sending the ball back towards goal and into the bottom corner after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s freekick had been half-cleared.

Despite the defeat, Porto remains second on the table with 5 points, one point ahead of AC Milan who defeated Atletico Madrid at home.
